The size of the planets and stars in our galaxy

I am offering you to travel a bit through the Milky Way to explore the planets and stars that make up our galaxy. I would like to share with you this video that makes anyone’s head swim. After you have watched it, you will feel you are so small!

That is when you get the whole measure of the enormity of the Milky Way and, most of all, when we (Humans) realize that we are certainly not the center of the universe, as is evident from the largest star in our galaxy, the VY Canis Majoris, the diameter of which is almost of 1.9 billion miles (3 billion kilometers). In other words, if an airplane were to fly over this star at 560 mph (900 km/h), it would take 1100 years for it to go around it!

"The royal art of the stars” has been a passion of mine since I was a child. I started to study astrology about fifteen years ago. I found astrology to be a very efficient and astonishingly lively instrument to provide us with understanding of the core dynamics of human beings. After offering personalized consultations in my practice for 10 long years, today I write horoscopes and online articles.
